The most durable, best looking restoration for your front teeth are high strength porcelain veneers. They are thin, strong, long lasting and can be totally painless. Many laboratories provide these services and materials. Some of these services are higher priced due to advertising and associated expenses. We offer services through many laboratories and are happy to discuss these affordable options with you.
Crowns
If your tooth is badly broken down a filling won’t work long term. Teeth that are badly weakened and fillings that are too large fracture easily with moderate chewing pressure. To rebuild broken teeth, stronger materials are needed which are then best bonded to the remaining healthy, solid tooth structure. Crowns, inlays and overlays will last much longer than a large filling. If the nerve of the tooth is damaged, it will probably need a root canal, a rebuilt foundation and a crown.
Bridges
In cases where several teeth are missing, a dental bridge may be necessary. Each missing tooth does NOT require an implant. 2 implants can be placed with as many as 4 teeth attached to them. For some people, as few as 4 dental implants are used to hold all of the upper or lower teeth. However, it is best to have at least one implant more than the absolute minimum when replacing a large number of teeth. Implants do occasionally fail after being placed and by having additional support [more than the bare minimum needed] the attached “teeth” can still stay in place with a solid foundation if an implant is lost, which avoids the cost and inconvenience of redoing the tooth replacements.

Root Canal Treatment
If a bonded tooth colored filling isn’t a good choice for you, one type of white filling material, a compomer, is an effective option. It’s more flexible than conventional tooth colored materials, absorbs and releases fluoride, and has no appreciable shrinkage. It is best to use it at the gum line, and under more wear resistant materials between teeth. This material absorbs fluoride from your toothpaste and releases it over a long period of time in amounts significant enough to help prevent recurrent decay. The nerve within the tooth also tolerates this type of material extremely well when there is deep decay. This can actually help the nerve heal in these situations which can help prevent nerve death and the need for a root canal. We use this material whenever possible.

Dental implants are very flexible in their use. They can replace a single tooth, several missing teeth, or even all of the upper or lower teeth. They can also be used to secure removable bridges or dentures.
