Resin Composite
If you already have dental fillings, there’s a chance that they are made from a metal material called silver amalgam. Our office opts for tooth-colored versions instead which are made from composite resin, a material completely free of metals. Not only does this allow us to color-match dental fillings to blend in effectively with your existing tooth but we don’t have to remove any enamel just to ensure the filling stays in place. Crowns
Every smile is unique, which means the services we provide need to be unique as well. Whether you need a dental crown, clear aligner, or protective mouthguard, we always make sure they fit comfortably and precisely. In order to lower the chances of human error, our office will make use of dedicated digital impression technology. Rather than asking patients to bite into gray putty material, our dentists use a handheld scanner which takes hundreds of digital photos and sends them to a software to create a 3D image. These images can then be used to create a future restoration or oral appliance.
Bridges
Traditionally, teeth have been replaced via dental bridges, whether it’s for a single tooth or multiple consecutive teeth. Bridges are made from several crowns that are physically attached together. While they can contain as few as two dental crowns, they can have as many as four if multiple teeth need to be replaced. The crowns in the center of the bridge fill the gap in your smile, while the crowns adjacent to them are hollowed out so they can fit on top of teeth neighboring the gap.

If a tooth needs to be removed, it’s likely because it was severely decayed. This is often due to poor oral hygiene that allowed plaque and tartar to buildup and erode enamel, exposing the vulnerable tissue located at the center. Keep in mind that this is not the only reasons a tooth may need extraction. Additionally, teeth cracked due to physical injury can be so damaged that no restorations can fix them. In other cases, patients need to have teeth removed before they can receive metal braces.

Dr. Williams earned his dental degree from the University of Texas School of Dentistry in Houston before completing a one year Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency program at Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas. While in dental school, Dr. Williams performed research in aesthetic dental biomaterials and his abstracts were published and presented at the University of Tennessee Hinman Student Research Symposium.
