A wide variety of benign (non-cancerous) conditions may affect a woman’s reproductive system, which consists of the uterus, vagina, ovaries and fallopian tubes. Most of these conditions affect the uterus, which is the hollow, muscular organ that holds a baby as it grows inside of a pregnant woman. Common types of gynecologic conditions – such as fibroids (non-cancerous growths in the uterine wall), endometriosis (non-cancerous growths of the uterine lining) or prolapse (falling or slipping of the uterus) – can cause chronic pain and heavy bleeding, as well as other disabling symptoms.
Labor and Delivery
Monthly menstrual bleeding (your period) is different for each woman. It is important to describe what is normal for you, how often you have your period, how long it usually lasts, and how heavy it usually is. Remember that bleeding patterns can be different before and after childbirth, with age, and with any medications you regularly take. Abnormal bleeding must be compared to what is normal for you. The purpose of this Phase 2 study is to compare two doses of ONC-392 in combination with a fixed dose of pembrolizumab in participants with platinum-resistant ovarian cancer and have disease progression on line of therapy containing bevacizumab. The advancements in cancer treatments result from researching new drugs through clinical trials. Clinical oncology trials are human research studies conducted with volunteers who participate in the testing of new therapies or new combinations of known chemotherapy agents.

Minimally Invasive Surgery
Robotic Surgery
The process of laparoscopic and robotic surgery begins with the surgeon making small incisions and using a tiny probe or camera to examine and identify the suspect areas. Additionally, the 3-D imaging of the robotic system allows for excellent visualization and the instruments used are manipulated via computer by a skilled surgeon. We can then identify cancerous or precancerous growths and remove “suspicious” tissue for immediate evaluation with the utmost precision and control. These methods both minimize the pain and risk associated with large incisions while increasing the likelihood of a fast recovery and excellent clinical outcomes.
Hysterectomy
When medication and other treatments are unable to relieve symptoms, hysterectomy – the surgical removal of the uterus – is often recommended to provide a more effective, definitive, long-term solution. In fact, this procedure is the second most common surgical procedure for women in the United States, and an estimated one third of all U.S. women will have a hysterectomy by age 60.
