Fillings
Composite fillings are made to look just like your teeth! Composite fillings, or tooth-colored fillings, are a dental restoration that is made of a non-toxic material, primarily quartz, ceramic, or silica, and are now used more often than silver or gold fillings. Composite fillings offer durability and resistance to fractures in small to mid-size fillings that need to withstand the constant stress of chewing. They can be used on either front or back teeth, so they are a great choice for patients who would like their fillings to look more natural! In a society focused on a white, bright smile, composite fillings are a simple solution to dental fillings.
Resin Composite
More commonly used on adult teeth, white dental crowns are used to strengthen decayed front teeth. They are commonly referred to as strip crowns and made of a composite resin, making them a more natural tooth color that is more cosmetically pleasing. When white dental crowns are used on back teeth and molars, they are made of porcelain fused to metal material. Due to the material used, white dental crowns are more rigid and work better when a mouth has stopped growing.

Pulpotomy
There are two types of pulp therapy – pulpotomy and pulpectomy. Both procedures aim to restore and save the pulp of the affected tooth, and our dentists can perform the procedure in any of our 9 Charleston offices.
Root Canal Treatment
“Pulp” refers to the tissue, nerves and blood vessels that make up the interior cavity and root canal of your child’s tooth. The pulp in your child’s tooth can be damaged through injury or tooth decay, and pulp therapy’s primary goal is to restore and repair damaged pulp in your child’s mouth. Also known as a root canal, pulpotomy or pulpectomy, pulp therapy helps save and restore the affected baby tooth.
