Best Chinese restaurant in Grand Rapids

One of the best carry out Chinese in the Grand Rapids area.

First, I'd like to say that the menu on Yellow Pages.com is NOT the menu of this China Kitchen location. Apparently someone posted the menu of another China Kitchen as the menu for this restaurant. However, this location is independently owned and operated, and is not affiliated with any of the others.



I found out when I called this restaurant to order takeout, and she was not familiar with the Crabmeat with Garlic Sauce item on the menu. She kept asking me what number, and I told her there were no numbers next to the menu items. I placed the rest of my order (without the crabmeat dish), and she suggested I bring in the menu with me when I came to pick it up so she could look at it. She said it would only take a few minutes to make my meal, regardless of what I ordered.



When I arrived, the woman was very surprised to see that there were many, many dishes on the menu that they do not sell. Also, the prices were wrong. She thanked me several times for alerting her to this. Since they really did not have the crabmeat dish, I ordered chicken in garlic sauce.



The chicken in garlic sauce was good. Not outstanding, but good. My mother-in-law liked her vegetable chop suey. The kids, however, did not like the moo goo gai pan because it was missing pineapple. I thought all moo goo gai pan contained pineapple, but maybe not.



The bottom line: I would go there again. The owner was friendly and willing to accommodate, the food was reasonably priced, and the portions are decent.
