I always like to support small businesses. These are some of the nicest business owners that I have had the pleasure of doing business with. We have purchased 2 amazing birds from them. Our first bird was purchased from a large chain and there is such a huge difference in the birds. These owners put their heart into caring for these animals until the day they are ready to come home. They really make you feel like family while you are visiting. All the extra customer service without the high costs. Birds and accessories are extremely reasonable. Will never purchase a bird from anywhere else. Love these guys!!!

I posted on Bird Fever's Face Book page on June 11 2015, when message about some of their new baby birds was posted. I asked the following question: I asked if Bird Fever had any policy or procedures about protecting baby birds and their mature birds from PDD, a highly contagious and very fatal virus. I asked that do they follow the proper procedures to protect their birds, and if they could demonstrate those practices and can show that their birds are PDD free and how they were protecting themselves from the virus. I also asked if they published that type of information for consumers. I asked these questions because I purchased a Cockatiel from their store October 2014 and it died March 2015. It lived less than a year. I had a biopsy done and it strongly suggests that it had PDD. I asked a series of questions. And that post was deleted and I am now prevented from posting on their Face Book page. Not only did Bird Fever not answer my question, they deleted the post and prevented me from posting. This behavior is highly indicative that Bird Fever knows about PDD and they are not engaging in safe practices to protect their birds. I brought a bird from Bird Fever. It died in less than a year with under questionable circumstances. I would encourage everyone to ask Bird Fever those questions regarding PDD. If they can't answer or won't answer, or kick you out of the store, or vilify this post, they have something to hide. Go elsewhere where pet shop owners can answer the questions. God knows Bird Fever hasn't answered mine.

Have spent several thousand dollars in this store, It is evident it is all about the money. Have some nasty employees, say things they don't really know the answers to, rather than seeking help. There are a couple of good employees or was. I have been spoken to by employees as i should not be spoken to. I would look for another place first before going back. Driving some miles might be worth the effort.

Great people, visit and see!

Every time we've ever been to Bird Fever, we've always been impressed with the friendliness of the staff, the cage prices, and the sweet little birdies. If you visit Bird Fever, I can promise you won't be disappointed.

best in midwest.

The staff here is very knowledgeable and can help you with most of your problems or concerns. I cross checked prices on the internet and they are very competetive with any other retailer out there. It is true you can find cheaper birds from a breeder, that is if you know how to hand feed them for the next several months. I would pay the extra money for a weaned baby with a health gurantee and even a free vet visit on most of their birds. Definitely the best prices on grooming birds you will find anywhere. They support the local breeders here by buying birds and also buy from some very reputable breeders in the south. Absoloutely no bird brokers involved, much better than the chain stores. I have many birds, most from bird fever, and their birds are taken care of better than anywhere else I have been. Definitely the best around.

Mediocre Service

Mediocre Service, only "petstore quality" birds, unfriendly, snobby. Would not recommend. Do a quick internet search and you will find a ton of other places (with far better service and animals) to frequent. I feel people only frequent this shop out of a lack of knowledge of the other options out there. They claim to be the only specialty store in Indy for birds when in reality they may be the only "retail location" but there is plenty of other places to get these birds and other items. Do a google search for birds for sale, bird breeders, exotic birds and you will likely find SO many other better options. You can get far better quality at a FAR better price somewhere else.
