He provides a wide range of dental services, including cleaning, fillings, extractions, advance screening as well as cosmetic dentistry, such as Bleaching, Bonding, Crown, Bridge and Veneers. Crowns
A crown (or cap) is a covering that encases the entire tooth surface restoring it to its original shape and size. A crown protects and strengthens tooth structure that cannot be restored with fillings or other types of restorations. Although there are several types of crowns, porcelain (tooth colored crown) are the most popular. They are highly durable and will last many years, but like most dental restorations, they may eventually need to be replaced. Porcelain crowns are made to match the shape, size, and color or your teeth giving you a natural, long-lasting beautiful smile.

Root Canal Treatment
Root Canal Treatment usually entails one to three visits. During the first visit, a small hole is drilled through the top of the tooth and into the inner chamber. Diseased tissue is removed, the inner chamber cleansed and disinfected and the tiny canals reshaped. The cleansed chamber and canals are filled with an elastic material and medication designed to prevent infection. If necessary, the drilled hole is temporarily filled until a permanent seal is made with a crown.

Deep Cleaning
You should have a standard cleaning at least twice a year. A periodontal treatment includes an Adult Prophy (basic cleaning). If it has been over a year since your last cleaning, possible treatment will include either Periodontal Scaling (deeper) or Root Planning and Scaling (requires anesthetic).

Dentures
A missing tooth can be replaced with a more permanent solution than a bridge or denture, in the form of a dental implant. Implants involve the implantation of an artificial tooth root in the jaw, and the application of a new, natural looking prosthetic tooth onto that root. We use a new X-Ray technology called Galileos to better prepare the implant.

Dr. Hernandez graduated from Centro Escolar University, located in Manila, Philippines in 1989 where he practiced dentistry for 9 years. There after, he relocated to California and became a licensed Dentist in 2000. Dr. Hernandez opened his first practice in Montebello, California in 2002 and has opened a second practice located in Alvarado in 2006. Continuing his education, Dr. Hernandez has attended Residency Programs for Esthetic Professional for Cosmetics in 2003, University of California, Los Angeles, for Endodontic Continuum and most recently the University of Southern California for Implants.

In recent years, many advances in orthodontic materials have taken place. Braces are smaller and more efficient. The wires now being used are no longer just stainless steel. They are made of alloys of nickel, titanium, copper and cobalt, and some of the wires are heat-activated. (The nickel-titanium alloy was originally engineered by NASA to automatically activate the antennae or solar panels of spacecrafts orbiting into the sun’s rays). These new kinds of wires cause the teeth to continue to move during certain phases of treatment, which may reduce the number of appointments needed to make adjustments to the wires.
