Ivar Lovaas Born and raised in Lima, Peru Claudia became interested in Autism during her last year of high school after doing a research project. Upon moving to the United State in 2002, Claudia became intrigued by the field of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and decided to pursue her B.S. in ABA at the University of North Texas and later on her M.S. in ABA at Simmons College in Boston. She became Board Certified Behavior Analyst in 2009. Throughout her career, Claudia has provided ABA therapy to children and young adults with autism ages 18 months-19 years in Texas, New York, Massachusetts, Illinois and Lima, Peru. Claudia has worked in a variety of settings including therapeutic day schools, public schools, clinics, vocational centers and client’s homes. Claudia also has experience collaborating with teachers and other providers to write IEPs, conducting functional skills and behavior assessments, writing behavior plans and training staff members and parents in implementing skill acquisition and behavior reduction programs. Before joining Portrait Health Centers, Claudia was a Lead BCBA for an ABA organization, supervising and mentoring a team of 5-8 BCBAs. Claudia’s biggest passion is helping children and their siblings, parents and staff reach their full potential.
