Hibachi Boy

This restaurant is awesome! Ate there a few days ago with my girlfriend. She was kinda scared to try sushi for the first time, but when she saw the pretty colors on the plate she was won over. I think I just got her hooked on raw fish and seaweed! Loved that she was impressed with the place. Nice atmosphere and cool digs! She wants me to bring her back next weekend for date night. Gonna try the Thai food next. She likes Mexican so hopefully she can handle the heat. Great job on the new restaurant, guys! You're my new favorite place for sushi. Peace Out, Reggie.

Had dinner at Dawn last night with the family to celebrate my parents 50th anniversary. We thought the food was absolutely delicious. The service was attentive and effortless, and the sushi was flavorful, fresh and beautifully presented. The owner, Lou, was on hand, seated our table personally and proved to be a most gracious and generous host. The children in our party ordered more traditional fare while the adults ventured into new territory with entrees and special rolls. Everything we ordered was exceptional and unique. Even the kids were game to get a taste of the spicier dishes we ordered, like Tom Yum Goong. My wife, Becka, our eldest son and his girlfriend, and the folks started the evening off with some gorgeous house-specialty drinks, and thoroughly enjoyed them (yours truly and my eldest daughter, the designated drivers, had to make due with a few sips here and there). And to accompany the main portion of our meal we ordered a few rounds of warm sake and a few bottles of Thai Singha beer and Kirin Japanese beer to share and compare. And speaking of getting tipsy, their Drunken Noodle dish was the most delicious version of it I've ever tasted; and I've eaten in all the Thai restaurants in Wichita, plus countless others while doing business in O.C., K.C., and St. Louis. Highly recommended! All in all, we had a most enjoyable and memorable evening. We will most definitely be back. Ecstatic to finally have a Thai restaurant and Japanese sushi bar of Dawn's caliber in Derby!

Wow! Love this place. Great place to take your love ones out. Great food selection and combination (Thai food and sushi) My wife is a big fan of sushi. No thanks for me. Anyway, she wanted to try Dawn for her birthday and that when I discovered that sushi wasn't that bad at all. Our server, Dara, suggested us to try crispy crazy crab roll and we all loved it even my son who is only 8. I love my Thai Pepper Steak (pepper steak sauce over KC strip). My daughter got teriyaki and my son got yakisoba for kid. They loves it. Our server was very friendly and helpful in selecting our food since we are new to Thai food. Thanks Dawn. We will be your regular customer

Raw CHICKEN. I went there to eat with my wife and they served us raw chicken! Service is horrible and the sushi chef is always watching tv before making our food. Worse thai food and sushi. Will never go again after getting RAW CHICKEN IN BOTH OUR DISHES!!!! Flavor is bland. Want good sushi, go to WASABI or KANAI

YUMMO!!!! I was just introduced to the sushi world a few months ago, and I am in LOVE with Dawn's! Super nice wait staff and great price point. I will definitely be a regular!

The food at the new Thai Steakhouse is excellent! Previously to moving to Derby, KS, my husband and I lived in England. I had been looking for good Thai food in the Wichita area since moving back to the States. I wasn't thrilled with anything I tried until I tried the Thai Steakhouse. The food is super fresh and cooked from scratch. I've tried the Red Thai Curry, the Yellow Thai Curry, and the Volcano Chicken and all are wonderful! My husband loves the sushi as well. The atmosphere is modern and serene and the wait staff is very friendly and helpful. Ask them what their recommendations are and they are happy to help!
