Audio Engineers, I would not recommend to anyone!
I got an estimate to get an Android radio (Amazon) installed in my SRT-10. I explained there were factory amps that were tricky to get to work. Jay told me that their labor rate was $99.95 an hour and it would take 3 hours to install. I asked how much, and he said $300 and we agreed. He put the radio in, and no sound. Jay ordered a harness. I asked what I owed, and Jay said nothing. We agreed I would pay $150 for the harness and labor. We agreed it would be $200 when he finished.
I came back Friday with a wiring harness I bought. He tried both harnesses, neither worked. I showed him there was another amp. He said he would have to take dash apart. I asked Jay if we were still good on price and he said don’t worry we got you covered. I called back, and he said they had the dash apart but had to work on another vehicle and he would call me. He never called. I called Monday and Tuesday. He told me that he had other vehicles.
I called Thursday, Kaci answered, I asked for Jay. He said he should finish today, and he’d call me when he was done. Jay called at 5:30. Jay pulled up the bill and said this is stupid there is no way I can charge this. He tried to fixit and sent me two bills $1135.17 and $835.32. He told me not to worry about those. Jay called Kaci. They talked, she hung up on him. I gave him $200 plus an extra $100. I asked him if we were good, he said yes, and he would send me a receipt tomorrow. He also agrees since they did not tell me the install would be more it would not be right to charge more than the original estimate. He said it is bad business. My wife said it is not right to change the price without letting the customer know. Jay agreed. I asked him again if we were good and he said yes just give me a good review. I said no problem. We shook hands. I went to leave and noticed everything wasn’t working right. He said to reset the radio and give him a call tomorrow.
Friday, I received a call from Jay asking if the lights are working. I told him no. I told him just wait until I get the amp and he can fix it then. He insisted I come by. I went there and Jay started working on the radio. I was asked to go to the office to discuss something. Kaci asked me what I was going to do about my unpaid bill of @ $1400. I didn’t know what she was talking about. I paid my bill in full the night before. She said we don’t work for free and they put a lot of hours on my truck. I explained to her the night before and I had already paid my bill and I didn’t know what she was talking about. She said pay the bill if you want your truck. I called my wife. I told my wife what was going on, and Jay ask her to come up. Kaci called Pearland. Kaci explained there was a bill and he think we charged too much. She wasn’t going to release my truck until it is paid. I then explained I had paid the bill in full last night and I just stopped by to fix what was not done right and all this happened. My wife also corroborated my story about the night before. Pearland officer referred to a sign on the wall vehicles are not released until bill is paid in full. My wife stated Thursday night after payment was made and Jay released the truck which means it was paid in full. The Pearland officer suggested we do what it takes to get the truck back and this was a civil matter. I pulled up the receipt that said the balance was $835.32 and said I paid $300 last night. I suggested to pay $535.32 to get the truck. Kaci agreed. I paid this. I was emailed a bill for $1634.92 before getting the correct bill stating paid in full.
All the time they bill is estimated and I believe exaggerated. All this could have been avoided if som...

Here is the whole story be sure to read to the end.

I went by to get an estimate to get an Android radio head unit (that I purchased from Amazon) installed in my SRT-10. I explained that there were factory amps that were tricky to get to work. Jay told me that their labor rate was $99.95 an hour and it would take about 3 hours to install. I asked how much, and he said $300 and we agreed to that price. I set an appointment to come back Friday and get it installed.

I came back at the time I made my appointment to let them install the radio. He put the radio in with the kit that came with the radio and everything worked except the amp and speakers. Jay informed me that they need to order a harness to make the factory speakers and amps work. He asked me if I wanted him to put the old radio back in, I told him just leave the new one in an I could play with it and get use to the new functions. I asked him what I owed him, and Jay told me not to worry about it I could pay him when I brought it back and he was finished. I didn’t feel right not paying him anything for the work he performed. We agreed that I would pay $50 for the harness he ordered and $100 for labor. I asked him if it would be $200 when I brought it back to get finished. He agreed that it would be and told me not to worry about it we got you covered.

I brought the truck back the next Friday (at the scheduled appointment time) with a wiring harness that I bought from advice I found on the SRT-10 forums just in case the harness he bought didn’t work. My wife picked me up for lunch. I even brought Jay and his helper lunch back. He tried the harness I bought, and it didn’t work. He also said that the harness he bought didn’t fit. I showed him that there was another amp behind the glovebox. He said he would have to take apart the dash to get to it. I asked Jay if we were still good on the price and he told me don’t worry we got you covered. My wife came and picked me up and I left. I called back later that day and he said they had the dash tore apart but had to work on another vehicle and he would call me back later. He never called me back and when I tried to call back, they were closed. I left a massage for him to call me.

I called back Monday and Kaci (Jay’s wife) answered the phone and I asked to talk to Jay, talked with Jay about where he was at finishing my truck. He told me that he had to finish another vehicle first before he could get back to work on my truck and his helper had to take a test before he came in. I called back later, and Jay informed me that his helper did not make it in. Jay also told me that they would be open Christmas Eve in the morning (after he said they would be closed) but had to leave after lunch to go do Christmas at his in-laws and could not miss it. Jay also told me not to worry they would not charge me overtime. I asked him again if we were still good, and again he told me not to worry we got you taken care of.

I called him back Tuesday before lunch and he said that him and his helper were there and that he should know something by 2. We (me and my wife) went up there and he was working on the truck he had the wiring harness that he purchased installed, but the radio was not connected to it and the dash was still taken apart. He informed me that he would not be able to finish it today. He mentioned about working on Christmas and I told him not to because everyone needs to be off to celebrate Christmas that it was Jesus’ birthday.

I called the early Thursday morning and left a message for them to call me. I called back later, and Kaci answered the phone and I asked to talk to Jay. He said that he should be finished with the truck today. I called back later in the day and he told me that they were working on it and he would call me when he was finished. Jay called
