Arina was wonderful! I came in with an unusual request (altering a men's suit jacket to fit a woman), and she went above and beyond my expectations!! The jacket was beautiful and finished in a timely fashion. Very reasonable price, high quality work! Thank you, Arina!!!

I have been taking my daughter's dresses to her for years. She always makes the dresses look and fit great. She is always nice and professional. We get our garments back on time and have never had an issue.

Arina is from Bosnia. Left there, went to Germany, learning alteration and tailoring....she has a husband and 2 teenaged boys, active in sports. Arina on spring 2015 made some baby doll outfits for a friend's little girl. She was do happy! I have been satisfied with her work since 2009 when I first saw her sign at MacKenzie and Gravois. She has an accent, delightful...my Irish relatives s

also had accents when they arrived in Chicago, 1880.

That makes her an American!!!

Very good tailor!! She worked a miracle with my winter jacket! I recommend Arina all the time to people and have always been treated nicely by her. Her sewing and her creative problem solving when dealing with alterations are amazing!

Wome beware! She is rude and treats you with disrespect. Well let me say this women does have a rude attitude. She snapped on me about a pair of shorts I had her fix. When I asked her to repair them a different way! She does very good work but her personality Is lacking big time. I occasionally still go to her but after reading this I think I should find someone new. Nobody wants to be treated rudely when. Paying for a service.

Unlike the other reviewers, I had a very positive experience. I went in to have a zipper replaced on an inexpensive tourist souvenir jacket from Alaska. I would not have bothered if I thought I would have ever gotten back there again. The seamstress told me that it could be done, gave me a price and a date when it would be ready for pickup. The garment was returned to me on the date it was promised, was professionally completed and at the price that was quoted. In addition, the zipper that was used has proven to be much better than the one that I broke. I couldn't be more pleased . My wife who is acquainted with wardrobe sewing pronounced it better than what she could have done. She was impressed with the work and that is a hard trick.

Not proportionate!

I walked in one day after work to get a skirt tailored and as I was walking in I said hello and got no response, and then I said again "hii, how are you", she looked up at me with an evil look and responded "what do you need", so I explained to her what I needed tailored and she basically looked at me and came to take my measurements and told me that I am not proportionate, she said that my waist was way to small for my hips. She went on measuring and said that this can't be fixed and if she was going to fix it would cost me a lot! I And she said that the reason this broke was because of my hips! decided to take my skirt and leave, I came to get something tailored, not to be told that my hips are too wide or this or that, and that the skirt was really ugly! I am sorry but that is not your job! I do not recommend her to anyone, I do know a few friends who have gone to her, and said she does a good job tailoring, but she is always rude!

I went to Arina's for my weddi...

I went to Arina's for my wedding dress and right when i walked in she wouldn't even look up at me. Then I had to say "hello, how are you, I'm here for my 5:00 appointment" and she told me to sit down until she's done. Then she got up, grabbed my dress, and told me to go change. So I changed and came out and she started pinning me and I had asked for a one-button bustle which I had wanted from the start and that's why I chose that dress. She told me that it could not be done with my dress and I had been lied to and the place I bought my dress from is extremely stupid when it comes to alterations....so then I got a little uneasy but took a couple breaths. I asked her to show me what she would recommend and she did and I asked if we could move one up and she flipped out and said somehting that I couldn't understand and I asked if she could repeat herself and she let out a huge groan like I had asked her some insane favor. She then started yelling at me saying that she doesn't need people like me tell HER what to do and she doesn't need me bogging her day down when she had so much to do and then proceeded to tell me to get the h*** out of her store. i needed help out of my lace up dress so asked her to help me and she groaned again and started ripping through it and then just dropped it. I was so furious with her. I changed as fast as I could and came out when she grabbed the dress from me and started ripping her pins out. I ran out of there bawling and will never go back. She was extremely rude and can't speak english too clearly so it's hard to understand her, which was why I asked her if she would mind repeating what she had said and that really made her angry. I would not recommend her to my least enemy. Good Luck
