Philip continued representing the people of the state of Florida as an Assistant State Attorney at the Pinellas County State Attorney’s Office after receiving his Juris Doctor in the spring of 2011 where he prosecuted thousands of misdemeanor and felony criminal cases ranging from traffic tickets to first degree murder. Philip also served as Lead Trial Attorney of a county court division, fought for domestic violence victims as the domestic violence attorney of a circuit court division, and served as a member of the Traffic Homicide Prosecution Unit, all allowing Philip to sharpen his trial skills, advocating for victims in over 50 jury trials.

In May 1995, Richard T. Leavengood’s son, Ian Richard Leavengood, graduated from the University of Florida’s Fisher School with his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Accounting. After two years working as an internal business consultant for The Procter & Gamble Distributing Company, Ian returned to the University of Florida to earn his law degree. During his second stint at UF, Ian served as a Judicial Extern to The Honorable Justice Ben F. Overton of the Supreme Court of State of Florida. After graduating from the Levin College of Law in May of 2000, Ian took a job for Deloitte & Touche, practicing the federal taxation of Mergers & Acquisitions in New York City. Eminent Domain
Richard, or "Dick" as he was known, was born in St. Petersburg, Florida, which is where he lived most of his civilian life. He received his Bachelor and Juris Doctor degrees from the University of Florida. After a brief stint as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy, Dick practiced law in St. Petersburg before ascending to the bench of the Sixth Judicial Circuit in and for Pinellas County, Florida. Dick sat on the bench for almost twenty years, serving it as Chief Judge for over ten years. Judge Leavengood was then appointed to serve as an Interim Justice to the Supreme Court of the State of Florida. Unsuccessful in his re-election efforts against Justice Boyd of South Florida, Dick retired from the judiciary and began to practice law. In the beginning, he focused almost exclusively on Real Estate and Eminent Domain. Dick was eventually joined in practice by his son, Richard, forming Leavengood & Leavengood, a predecessor of the LeavenLaw firm that exists today. Dick was the father of seven children and a mentor to numerous attorneys and judges in West Central Florida, many of whom are still practicing to this day.
