Chaps Restaurant

This was our first visit with out-of-town guests. The decor is lovely and the bakery goods are a feast for the senses! It was a lovely day so we sat outdoors under an umbrella. We ordered bloody mary's which were well made and waited patiently. Just shy of an hour later our patience began to thin. When our meal finally arrived the "eggs over-easy" were cold, over-hard, and crusty and the chicken-fried steaks were tough and chewy. My nieces' oatmeal was cold so we sent it back and it returned embedded with a long dark hair. We expect that a restaurant as popular as this will require a little patient wait; however, an hour is really pushing it and we were not offered an apology which would have softened the disappointment although wait staff were friendly. That said, we would like to eat at the restaurant again, as we believe in giving local business a second chance and, besides, Celeste, Gina, and Dr. C are charming people!!!
