Urinary incontinence is a condition where urine is leaked before a patient is ready to use the restroom. Often women think this condition has no treatment options. In recent years the incontinence treatment options have expanded and women now have a variety of choices both surgical and medical.

Bladder Cancer
The most common symptom of bladder cancer is blood in the urine. If you have blood in the urine, this is something that requires investigation by your primary physician or a urologist.
Urology

Kidney Cancer
Typically, kidney cancer does not have any symptoms. Rarely patients will see blood in their urine or on a urine test. Most kidney cancers are found “incidentally” or when patients are being screened for something else with a CT or other image of the abdomen.
Kidney Stones
Because kidney stone formers often have stones again, urologists often recommend different workups to see if a medication may be right to keep stones from forming again in the future.
Urinary Tract Infection
All Surgical treatments have risks. The potential risks include bleeding, irritative symptoms, retrograde ejaculation and urinary tract infection.

Men who have a family history of prostate cancer or are of African American race can discuss option of screening at age 40

Yes! Newly implanted devices are generally MRI compatible. Some older model devices may need to be removed or exchanged prior to MRI.

Chemotherapy
The majority of bladder cancers diagnosed do not need IV chemotherapy medications. Chemotherapy may be required in certain situations, especially for more advanced cancers. Some chemotherapies can be given locally in the bladder, and others require infusions.

Take a long weekend and be back to work before you know it! Vasectomy is an in-and-out clinic procedure, generally lasting 15-30 minutes. Botox
Your urologist will numb the inside of the urethra and bladder with a lidocaine solution. With a small lighted tube, the urologist will look into the bladder and inject botox into multiple areas in bladder. Most women are very comfortable during the procedure, and usually do not require any type of pain medication.
